Gooseberry Pax
Thought to be a cross between Gooseberry Whinham’s Industry and a thornless variety from Canada, dessert Gooseberry Pax has the advantage of being virtually thornless – which makes picking and pruning much pleasanter! The berries are medium-sized to large, deep red, with a delicious, sweet flavour. The bush is vigorous but compact, spreading in habit, and suitable for growing as a cordon. Very resistant to American Gooseberry Mildew, but not reliably hardy in very cold areas.
