Gooseberry Leveller
A very old, mid-season variety, dual-purpose Gooseberry Leveller is widely grown for its high yields and exceptional flavour. The berries are very large and smooth, greenish-yellow, with excellent flavour, both when cooked or preserved, or as a dessert gooseberry when fully ripe. Makes the best gooseberry jam! The bush is moderately vigorous and spreading, with a drooping habit. Gooseberry Leveller is a reliable, very heavy cropper, but it needs good soil to do well. Susceptible to American Gooseberry Mildew. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
