Ficinia Ice Crystal

A striking but tender little sedge, Ficinia truncata Ice Crystal is a compact, evergreen, rhizomatous perennial grass with a mound-forming habit. The narrow, mid-green leaves are edged with cream or white, giving a delightful, frosted appearance. From June to August inconspicuous, rounded, pale brown flower spikelets rise on taller stems above the foliage. If you want to keep it for the following year, ficinia Ice Crystal should be grown in a pot that can be brought into a frost-free greenhouse or bright porch for the winter.
