Weymouth pine
A beautiful elegant tree to plant in many situations, Pinus strobus (also known as Eastern white Pine) is a medium growing tree with beautiful delicate blue foliage, and smooth grey young bark. The name Weymouth comes from Lord Weymouth who planted this tree throughout the UK in the 18th century. Yields attractive long thin resinous cones eventually.
Site: Tolerates some exposure
Soil: Well drained, prefers acid but lime is good too
Position: Full sun, young plants tolerate some shade
