Lombardy Poplar

A fantastic tree that grows in a tall, slim, columnar manner, Often planted along road sides all over Ireland it acts as a good inland wind break thanks to its flexible wood, and its attractive large foliage which has a dark upperside, and silver underside, 
Centainly not a tree for a smaller garden, best planted far from any buildings as its roots can be damaging, can be a good choice for firewood. though it does burn relatively quickly,
