Flowering Currant King Edward VII

A medium-sized deciduous shrub, Ribes sanguineum King Edward VII has toothed, maple-shaped leaves. This form tends to be lower-growing than other flowering currants. From late February until April the crimson-pink, somewhat pendulous flowers are a good early food source for bees. Small black berries appear in Autumn. Flowering currant is ideal in mixed shrub beds; also very common in mixed informal hedges.
