Pin Oak
Tall deciduous tree from the Eastern USA, forming a dense crown with elegant slender branches. Deeply lobed leaves, turning magnificent shades of red in autumn. It grows exceptionally well on damp-marshy ground, hence the species name ‘palustris’ translating from Latin as ‘of the marsh’. The acorns take two years to mature and are more than half covered by their cups.
