Tulip Rococo – Parrot Tulip
Curious and distinctive parrot type flowers with heavily ruffled petals of rich ruby red, swirled with green and yellow. Tulip Rococo makes an excellent cut flower and will thrive equally well in containers or herbaceous borders. Once flowers have been cut allow foliage to remain in place in the garden, this concentrates the plant’s energy into the bulb for strong, healthy growth the following Spring.
Site: Best in shelter
Position: South or West facing, in full sun
Soils: Rich but well-drained, sandy, light soil
Planting Period: September to November
Flowering Period: March into April
Planting: Depth 4 – 6” (10 -15 cm), Spacings 4 – 6” (10 -15 cm)
Height: 45 cms
